SENSATIONELLES COMEBACK-ALBUM!

Jetzt ist es amtlich: RUNNING WILD sind zurück! Sieben Jahre nach ihrem letzten Studioalbum "Rogues En Vogue" kündigt Käpt'n Rock'n'Rolf zur Freude seiner zahllosen Fans für April 2012 das neue Album "Shadowmaker" an. "Meine Erklärungen im Frühjahr 2009, weshalb ich RUNNING WILD beende, waren seinerzeit absolut ernstgemeint. Ich brauchte dringend eine Auszeit und konnte mir ehrlich gesagt selbst im Januar 2011 noch nicht vorstellen, dass ich irgendwann wieder Lust auf ein neues Album bekommen würde", sagt Rolf. "Doch etwa zeitgleich mit der Idee einer Best Of-Scheibe, zu der ich vier neue Nummern beisteuern wollte, entdeckte ich meinen Spaß am Komponieren neu. Von da an war es erstaunlicherweise nur noch ein kleiner Sprung zu einem kompletten neuen Studioalbum."

Zehn neue Titel hat Rock'n'Rolf für "Shadowmaker" geschrieben, darunter den Midtempo-Opener "Piece Of The Action", die Uptempo-Nummer "Shadowmaker" (in etwa die Gangart von "Angel Of Mercy") und das achtminütige Monumentalstück "Dracula", angelehnt an die Geschichte von Bram Stoker und die Filme mit Christopher Lee. "Für mich ist "Shadowmaker" deshalb ein ganz besonderes Album, weil keinerlei Druck oder Zwang dahintersteht. Ich denke man hört sehr genau, dass mir diese Lockerheit geholfen hat, eines der stärksten RUNNING WILD-Werke aller Zeiten zu schreiben."

Rock'n'Rolf hat seine Gedanken über das neue Album, die Vergangenheit und die Zukunft auch in einer Video Message zusammengefasst:


Veröffentlicht wird "Shadowmaker" weltweit im April 2012 über Steamhammer/SPV, eine Kooperation, die der RUNNING WILD-Kapitän als "Glücksgriff und optimale Partnerschaft" bezeichnet. Rock'n'Rolf: "SPV/Steamhammer sind eine alteingesessene Firma mit erfahrenen Mitarbeitern, deshalb weiß ich, dass RUNNING WILD hier bestens aufgehoben sind. Außerdem sind meine Band und die Firma in der gleichen Stadt beheimatet, ebenfalls kein Nachteil für eine reibungslose Zusammenarbeit."

Auch aus den Worten von Olly Hahn, A&R; und Produktmanager bei Steamhammer/SPV, spricht die pure Freude: "Dass eine stilprägende Band wie RUNNING WILD bei uns unterschreibt, kommt schon einem Ritterschlag gleich. Bandleader Rock'n'Rolf ist einer der letzten Originale der Metal-Szene und wir hier bei SPV sind unglaublich stolz, dass er sich für uns entschieden hat."

It’s finally official: RUNNING WILD are back! To the delight of his countless fans, Captain Rock'n'Rolf has announced the release of the new album, "Shadowmaker", seven years after RUNNING WILDs last studio album, "Rogues En Vogue". "My comments in spring 2009 about the demise of RUNNING WILD were absolutely serious at the time. I really needed time out and, to be honest, couldn't imagine even in January 2011 that I would ever feel like recording a new album again.", says Rolf. "But when I had the inspiration for a best-of album, to which I wanted to contribute four new numbers, I rediscovered how much I enjoy composing. From then on it was only a small step to record a full new studio album."

Rock'n'Rolf has written ten new tracks for "Shadowmaker", among them are the midtempo opener "Piece Of The Action", the uptempo number "Shadowmaker" (roughly the same pace as "Angel Of Mercy") and the monumental eight-minute track "Dracula", based on Bram Stoker's novel and the Christopher Lee movies. "To me, "Shadowmaker" is a very special album because there was no pressure, timewise or otherwise. I feel it's clearly audible that this relaxed attitude helped me to write one of the strongest RUNNING WILD recordings of all time."

Rock'n'Rolf recaps his thoughts about the new album, the past and the future in a video message for the fans:


"Shadowmaker" will be released worldwide on Steamhammer/SPV in April 2012, a cooperation which the RUNNING WILD captain refers to as "a real stroke of luck and ideal partnership". Rock'n'Rolf: "SPV/Steamhammer are a long-established label with an experienced team, so I know that RUNNING WILD are in good hands. Besides, my band and the record company are based in the same german city (Hannover), which can't be a disadvantage for a smooth cooperation."

Olly Hahn, A&R; at Steamhammer/SPV, is equally delighted: "That a style-defining act such as RUNNING WILD signed with us comes close to an accolade. Band leader Rock'n'Rolf is one of the metal scene's last originals, and we at SPV are unbelievably proud that his choice fell on us."
